Long wheelchair coat – extra comfort and coverage whilst seated

A standard, longer coat can become uncomfortable when sitting in a wheelchair because the back of the coat gets caught between your back and the backrest. This Bordeaux-coloured wheelchair coat by GOZZ It therefore combines the look and coverage of a longer coat with a design that can be adapted to a seated position.

At the front, the style falls longer over the body and upper thighs. This provides extra coverage when sitting and makes the coat particularly comfortable for outdoor use and getting about in cooler weather.

Shortened back panel for wheelchair users

The reverse side can be fitted with a shortened back panel of approximately 30 cm. This means there is less excess fabric between the wearer’s back and the backrest of the wheelchair.

The longer front panel is retained. This gives you the protection of a longer coat at the front, without the back bunching up when you’re sitting down.

The shortened back panel can be finished as desired with press studs or Velcro.

Sleeve zips make getting dressed easier

When the range of movement in the arms and shoulders is restricted, putting on a coat can require extra effort. For this reason, the sleeves can be fitted with a a zip of about 20 cm on the forearm.

For those who need a larger opening, there is also a full-length sleeve zip extending to the armpit possible. This allows the sleeve to be opened much wider, creating more space when getting dressed.

Magnetic zip fastening

The front zip can also be adjusted. If it is difficult to join or insert a standard zip, you can opt for a magnetic zip fastening.

The magnetic fastening helps to bring the two parts together and can make it easier to fasten the jacket.

With a hood for extra protection

This model is fitted with a hood, which provides extra protection on cold or windy days. The burgundy colour and subtle, colourful details on the inside also give the jacket a warm, smart look.

Practical and attractive

A wheelchair jacket doesn’t have to look like a medical aid. That’s why, at GOZZ, the functional adaptations are incorporated into the jacket’s design as much as possible.

In this way, this model retains the look of a a lovely, longer ladies’ coat, whilst the fit and various options can be tailored to the wearer’s everyday life.
